Engagement Photo Shoots: Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring

Here are some of my favorite Engagement Photo Shoots from the winter, fall, summer and spring.  The locations range from Adler Planetarium through Michigan Ave to North Beach… oh, and a quick trip to Penn State.

Looking forward to everyone’s 2012 & 2013 weddings!

Elizabeth and Jeff

Liz and Jeff had a wonderful wedding celebration.  The weather held out and we had a really nice fall day, crisp but beautiful!  I am so impressed with the details and overall style of this wedding, and Liz did it all herself.   As an early November fall wedding, she kept the feel soft, warm and romantic.  The room was gorgeous and everywhere you looked you saw another special detail/touch that was unique and special.

We took an hour or so after the ceremony and went to my favorite spots on the photo tour.. this area gives us so many different looks and room for this big wedding party to relax and have fun.  And we had a LOT of fun.. look at the photos!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the day…

Kristen & Michael, North Shore Country Club

There is little I love more then a fall wedding.  If you talk to me for more then 5 minutes, I will probably tell you how I love the fall light to create photographs.  The skies are so blue, the colors so rich… the direct sun is warm and soft, the word “luscious” comes to mind.  I kept posing Kristen & Michael in the direct sun (normally not my style) to create these stunning, rich images that look so crisp and clean, but also romantic.  With the sun to their back and a reflector or patch of light colored cement in front, it made for the ideal portrait.  Besides color correcting for skin tones, there is no post-production photoshop work done to these photos at all.  And, of course, it helps they are absolutely gorgeous people too:)

Kristen emailed me after the honeymoon and said she loved her wedding day… so did I… the photos tell the story pretty well.   Enjoy~

Destination: Disney World

Christine and Joe’s destination wedding in Disney World.  First we celebrated with a lovely tent reception at the family home in Woodstock, IL.   Then Christine and Joe had a fairytale wedding at Disney World.  The bride was picked up in a white carriage led by 6 white horses, married at the Wedding Pavilion with a view of the Magic Kingdom and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse helped the couple cake their cake and then celebrated with the guests at the reception.

Christine and Joe’s Tent Reception

Christine and Joe live in San Francisco, but had a reception at the family home in Woodstock, IL.  I am lucky enough to have photographed this family’s events over the years and loved being a part of this celebration.  The style of the tent decor was very soft and romantic, with old barn windows as chandeliers.  In complete contrast, the next weekend we all flew to Disney World for a magical ceremony and reception that will be remembered forever.

Watch for the Disney photos in the next blog post….
