ABOUT ROBIN SLOAN
PHOTOGRAPHER & OWNER OF RIVERBEND STUDIO
I grew up hearing the name Riverbend Studio all my life. My mother was
an artist and brought Riverbend to life 25 years ago. When she passed
away in 2000, I gave Riverbend a new life as a photography business.
As one of my favorite brides said, “That’s some good mojo”. I agree.
Thanks Mom.
Old black and white wedding photographs of our families decorate the
dining room walls in our home. When I see the history captured in
those old photos, and how they have been cherished and carefully handed
down through the generations, I fall in love with photography all over
again. Photography allows me to stop time, capture a moment, and hang
it on the wall. Guests can view the photographs and step back in
time. That is my favorite part of being a photographer.

RIVERBEND DOGS • http://www.riverbenddogs.com
When I am not photographing weddings, I photograph dogs. All new
wedding clients get a free dog photo shoot too, so I guess sometimes
the worlds overlap.
I love dogs. They can be serious, funny, silly, hyper, playful,
charming and sneaky…. They hide nothing. What a fabulous opportunity
for a photographer.
The dramatic lighting and sets that can be created in studio fit
certain stylish pups perfectly. Some dogs are waiting to let their
inner model out, they just need a stage.
Plus, it’s really cold at the Dog Beach in Chicago in February.
